Cameron Highlands Golf & Country Club
The Cameron Highlands golf course is situated in a valley 5,000 feet above sea level. The golf course has been carved out of the foliage and forests of the Malaysia highlands. Tree-covered mountains surround the entire course, providing a spectacular backdrop for all visiting golfers.
The par-71, 6101 meter golf course provides a wonderful opportunity for a full day's golf in fresh mountain air. This well-manicured course comprises luxuriant green fairways with well-developed trees, fine sand bunkers, tricky greens and thick rough; providing what is probably the coolest and most pleasant golfing environment in Malaysia.
Wide landing areas gives excellent scoring opportunities and the thinner air encourages drives that seem to sail on for miles. The par-5 15th is the most dramatic hole on the golf course with over 100 meters of elevation change and a complete 360 degree panoramic view around the mountains. Other holes like the 12th and 17th have “shared fairways”, but with only a handful of golfers on the course each day this is hardly a problem.
The clubhouse and resort provide great views where one can sit back for a snack or a drink at leisure. However, there is no driving range and practice facilities are limited.
Cool breezy conditions are the norm at Cameron Highlands, so bring a jacket. Also, passing showers frequent the mountain range which makes having an umbrella a must to stay dry.
